报告题目:Superconductivityat 250 K in lanthanum hydride under high pressures

Abstract:Firstprinciples calculations suggested a new family of hydrides possessing aclathrate structure, where the host atom (Ca, Y, La) is at the center of thecage formed by hydrogen atoms. For LaH10superconductivity, withcritical temperaturesTcranging between 240 and 320 K is predicted at megabarpressures. Here, we report superconductivity with a recordTc~250 K within theFm-3mstructure of LaH10at apressureP~170 GPa. We proved theexistence of superconductivity at 250 K through the observation ofzero-resistance, isotope effect, and the decrease ofTcunder an external magnetic field, which suggests anupper critical magnetic field of ~120 T at zero temperature. The pressuredependence of the transition temperaturesTc(P) has a maximum of 250-252 K at thepressure of about 170 GPa. This leap, by 50 K, from the previousTcrecord of 203 K indicates the realpossibility of achieving RTSC (that is at 273 K) in the near future at highpressures and the perspective of conventional superconductivity at ambientpressure.

He discoveredsuperconductivity with the highest critical temperature of 203 K and 250 K insulfur and Lanthanum hydride successively; conductive hydrogen; polymericnitrogen and others.
