Lutz Gross博士现任澳大利亚昆士兰尊龙凯时副教授,主要从事科学软件开发、并行计算、求解偏微分方程的数值方法、数值模拟等。

报告内容:

In the presentation we discuss inversion approaches which are particularly suitable for the application with unstructured meshes. The approaches are specially designed to work with finite element method (FEM) approximations not only for the forward problems but also for the property targeted by the inversion. A particular advantage of the method is that its computational costs are independent from the number of observation stations which is a limiting factor in terms of computational costs for other inversion methods. We will show results from a 3D (synthetic) FullWaver electrical survey and from (field) surface gravity data and discuss the use of parallel computers and multi-grid solvers to speed-up the compute time for these inversions.
