Biography
ProfessorQuan Wang is mainly engaged in the research on the structure and function ofbiomolecular complexes in the energy metabolism of microbial pathogens and genetranscription and replication systems, as well as the research and developmentof innovative drugs. In recent years, he has made breakthroughs in the study ofthe oxidative phosphorylation system supercomplex ofMycobacteriumtuberculosis(Gong et al., 2018) and the arabinosyltransferase complex inthe cell wall synthesis process (Zhang et al., 2020). During the COVID-19 pandemic,the SARS-CoV-2 RNA polymerase complex (Gao et al., 2020) and its complexstructure with the drug candidate Remdesivir (Wang et al., 2020) were analyzedin collaboration with professor Zihe Rao et al., providing an important scientificbasis for understanding the mechanism of virus replication and the developmentof antiviral drugs.
